Game Features

1

Hexagonal Tile Stacking

Players drop hexagonal tiles onto a board and stack matching colours to clear them. Three of the same colour in a stack removes the group.

  • The board uses a hex grid, so each tile has up to six neighbours affecting stack options
  • Stacks build vertically — colour order within a stack determines what can be matched
  • Clearing a stack opens board space and can trigger chain clears if adjacent stacks match
2

Placement Planning

The next tile is shown before placement, giving players one step of forward visibility to plan where a colour fits best.

  • Players see the incoming tile before committing to a hex cell
  • Placing a tile on top of the wrong colour can block future matches
  • Board state changes after every placement, so plans must adapt continuously
3

Board Overflow Failure State

If stacks grow beyond a height limit or available cells run out, the game ends. Managing board density is the central pressure.

  • No timer exists — pressure comes from filling space rather than running out of time
  • Tall stacks on hexes with few neighbours are harder to clear and more dangerous
  • The game ends when a new tile cannot legally be placed
4

Colour Variety Per Run

The number of colours in play determines matching complexity. Fewer colours mean easier chains; more colours raise the difficulty of finding matches.

  • Early levels introduce a small colour set to establish the matching logic
  • Additional colours appear as difficulty increases, crowding the stack options
  • Colour balance on the board shifts with each tile drop, requiring re-evaluation

What You Do

Stack Hexagons to Clear Rows

Complete rows clear the board; incomplete placements stack up.

Hexa Stack is a browser puzzle game in which you place hexagonal tiles onto a board, aiming to form complete rows that clear from the grid. Tiles arrive in groups and must be positioned before the next set appears, so each placement decision shapes the space available for what comes next.
