Game Features
Path-Based Tile Matching
Select two identical tiles that can be connected by a path with no more than two 90-degree turns and no obstacles in the way. Both tiles disappear when matched.
- The connection path must be clear of other tiles — blocked routes prevent a match even between identical tiles
- Maximum two turns in the connecting line is the core spatial constraint of the format
- Valid connections are not highlighted automatically, making path-finding the player's responsibility
Full Tile-Set Layout
All tiles are visible on the board at the start of each game. The player reads the full layout before selecting the first pair.
- No hidden or face-down tiles — the entire board is readable from the opening state
- Early matches change the available paths for remaining tiles, so sequence matters
- The layout determines which pairs can be cleared in which order
Hint and Shuffle Options
A hint function highlights a valid matching pair when the player is stuck. A shuffle redistributes tiles if no valid matches remain.
- Hints point to one legal pair without solving the board — the player still chooses whether to use the move
- Shuffle resets tile positions when the board reaches a dead-end state
- Both options are limited-use or carry a time penalty depending on the version
Timed Completion Mode
A countdown timer runs alongside the board. Completing all matches before time expires is the win condition.
- Timer pressure encourages reading the board quickly rather than evaluating every option
- Faster matches build a score multiplier in some versions
- Time bonuses are awarded for matching streaks without using hints
What You Do
Connect Matching Tiles to Clear
Pair identical tiles whose connecting path makes at most two turns.
Mahjong Connect is a browser tile-matching game in which you pair identical tiles by drawing a connecting path between them. The path must reach from one tile to the other using no more than two turns, and only unobstructed routes count — tiles with no valid connection cannot be matched yet.
